I’m not a huge coffee drinker. You’ll probably never find me drinking a cup of coffee on it’s own. There are times when I want a coffee fix and I find myself buying some cold brew at the gas station randomly after I get off of work. I take it home and think of all the things that I can make with the fresh bottle of overwhelming charcoal tasting liquid. By the time I come up with my new concoction it’s later in the evening and I might not be the smartest person in the world, but I know that drinking coffee at 9 p.m. probably isn’t the best idea – especially when you’re not a regular caffeine consumer in the first place.
So I decide to let it have a sleepover in my fridge next to the kombucha and figure that I’ll experiment in the morning. When morning comes you know what’s happening, smoothies. Always. And that’s how this mocha smoothie was born.
1 and 1/2 frozen bananas
1/4 cup coffee
1/4 cup cashew milk
1 tablespoon carob powder
2 teaspoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon maca powder
Add all ingredients to blender. Blend, serve, enjoy!
