The Future of Create N Plate & Earthy Green Smoothie Recipe

Hi guys! I hope that you’re having a great day! Todays post is a little different than the typical recipe post. I want to talk to you guys about something today! But no worries, there’s still a recipe for a crisp and cool green smoothie at the end.

Okay, let’s get to it.

For a while now I’ve felt somewhat stuck with this blog. I’m not exactly sure what direction I should go with it to give you all the best quality content and have fun doing it. Way back in the beginning, before this blog was even called Create N Plate, I shared a variety of things on here. I shared workouts, advice on how to become at peace with yourself, how to create a healthy relationship with food, crafts, restaurant reviews, etc. It was just a fun place to read blog posts and join in on various conversations involving a healthy lifestyle.

Obviously a lot has changed since the then. Somehow this has transformed into more of a recipe blog than anything. Some days I love that it happened this way and other days I feel confused about it. I don’t know how it happened honestly. But I believe that there is a reason behind it and there is also a reason that I am typing this out right now and asking you guys for help.

I am confused about what to do with this site. I love it, I really really do. I am so grateful that I am able to connect with so many of you because of it. It’s something that I appreciate so much and hope that I will be able to continue to do that. But I feel as if something(s) needs to change. I’ve put a lot of thought into what I can do with it and I know that there are so many possibilities! I considered turning it into more of a lifestyle blog like it used to be. But at the same time I’ve considered focusing on one simple topic such as vegan desserts or something along those lines. There are so many options and I would enjoy doing any of them I believe. But I don’t want to try anything though until I reach out to all of you.

Please tell me, what do you guys want to see? Do you want to see a wider range of things here? If so, what? Or would you prefer if I focused on a smaller range of things?

My ultimate goal for this website is to create a space that we can all come together and share positive and inspiring things with each other. I want to help all of you transform your lives in the best and happiest way possible. Please let me know what you think!

  1. I think you should focus on a lifestyle blog & do what comes naturally to you. We admire YOU, not just the recipes you post…. (Although we are thankful for those too). Whatever makes you happy will make your followers happy.
Don’t limit yourself too much. I enjoy your account because there are tons of things on it, not just one

  2. I think you should share whatever you feel like on your blog! Anything you decide to post will be appreciated in all of the categories you mentioned. I think blogs are the best when the author is passionate about what she blogs about and happy about what they are doing. Keep up the good work :)!

  3. Of course I can write like “Why not you to write about X and not write about Y”? But it will never work until you figure it yourself. Cause…blogging is always about what you like, otherwise it doesn’t work. And we, your readers, love you in this posts. How you write them. So maybe you’ll find which theme is more appealing for you. Or maybe it’s your style – write about everything:) Lifestyle, recipes, reviews, thoughts – who knows? If I have any advice, it’s only one: “Try”. We’ll support it:)

  4. Gah, I’ve not visited your blog in WAAAAAY too long, I’ve missed your recipes! Glad I re-discovered it in enough time for my comment here not to be completely redundant, though I guess in a way it will be, as I’m basically going to just repeat what the earlier commenters said!
I hear you completely because I had a similar issue myself when I first started blogging, as I felt my interests, namely music, songwriting, poetry, journalism, cooking, and veganism were way too diverse to put into the one thing! So what I did was make one recipe-specific blog, (within which I’m also happy to blog occasionally about general vegan-related topics,) and a separate blog for all other my arty farty stuff:)
If your material naturally falls into “categories,” you could do it this way, but if you’re feeling you want to just put it all into Create n’ Plate, go for it! The only thing I would suggest is adding a couple more headings up top alongside “Recipes” for your other subjects, e.g “Fitness,” “Reviews,” etc – you could even have a “Fun,” or “Misc,” category if some blog posts are just random crazy rambles!
Keep it up and just go with what you love the most!:D

    • Hello,
Thank you for this comment!! I’m so glad to have you back here 🙂 And your comment on anything would never become redundant!
I still don’t know exactly what route I’m going to go. I think that I’m going to stick with mostly recipes and a few other things interspersed throughout. We’ll see!!
I truly appreciate your insight though and will definitely consider it for future posting 🙂
      xoxo
